Selected PokeMon Guardians Rising Review for Expanded Format

I always enjoy the Eternal Formats  when it comes to a Trading Card Game. Therefore, I find the Expanded format of PokeMon TCG to be most interesting. The upcoming release of Guardians Rising, introduces many powerful cards that will see play in Expanded. Today I am going to review my picks of the Expanded playable cards from this new set.

Great Additions to Expanded Format!:

Turtonator-GX will definitely be finding a home in Volcanion decks. Its Nitro Tank GX ability is extremely efficient for powering up your Volcanion EXs. In addition to the GX ability, Turtonator’s Trap Shell attack is able to quickly dispose your opponent’s PokeMon especially with the damage boost from Volcanion’s Steam Up. Turtonator-GX and Volcanion -EX are essentially a match made in heaven!

Tapu LeLe GX:

This is actually one of the most powerful PokeMon in print so far. Tapu LeLe-GX has Jirachi-EX’s Stellar Guidance equivalent ability while at the same time it can function extremely well offensively with the Energy Drive attack.
Tapu LeLe is no doubt the chase rare in this set and it will have major impacts on the Expanded format. I can foresee that almost all decks will be including at least one or two copies of Tapu LeLe in their PokeMon roster.

Aqua Patch:

Quad Lapras has gained some popularities in the recent Expanded events. With the aid of Aqua Patch, players can easily set up a freshly benched or retreated Lapras-GX to be battle ready, which increases the overall aggressiveness of the deck.
Aqua Patch may also have the potential to give rise to new Expanded viable Water Box decks. It will be very interesting to see what new brews players will come up with using this awesome Item card.

Choice Band:

This item will be replacing the Muscle Band from the decks since the extra damage from the bands are only really useful when dealing with EX or GX PokeMons’ high hit points. Choice Band simply outclasses the Muscle Band with its 10 extra damage.

Field Blower:

Field Blower is a straight up upgrade from Tool Scrapper and Startling Megaphone. The great flexibility of the Field Blower in terms of Tool and/or Stadium removal can allow players to make more strategic plays against their opponent.

Gotta Catch’Em All:

Guardians Rising is a phenomenal set that introduces many powerful PokeMon and Supporter cards to the Expanded format. I for one, am extremely excited to get my hands on a few copies of Tapu LeLe and see how much it can improve the efficiency of my decks. Guardians Risng Expansion is now available for purchase, get ready to catch some awesome new PokeMons.
